Clare Museum, Ennis, is located in a beautifully restored former convent built by the Sisters of Mercy congregation in 1861. The museum exhibition "The Riches of Clare: its people, place and treasures," occupies two galleries and incorporates the traditional method of displaying original artefacts from the county with modern interpretive tools such as colourful display panels, audio visual and computer interactive presentations, models, some replicas and commissioned art pieces....

The Museum is located in a magnificent 19th century, three storey building, which was formerly the Poor Clares Convent in Ballyjamesduff.
Extensive grounds are attached to the building which alllow for pleasant walks in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

The museum collection is exhibited thematically and chronologically to present the story of Cavan from the Stone age through to modern times. The museum also features a book and souvenir shop as well as tearooms....

The schoolhouse, which dates form 1929, captures the atmosphere of a classroom in the embryonic Irish state and reflects a period in Irish education which straddles two centuries. The memorabilia, period school furniture, school work books, readers and photographs are complemented by a 3-dimensional display, showing models of a school teacher and pupils of the 1920s.
